In case of emergency, I authorize Shaggy to Chic to provide the necessary treatments to my dog at my expenses unless illness or injury is a direct result of negligence of Shaggy to Chic.
Vaccination: The owner verifies their dog(s) are current on vaccinations including, but not limited to Rabies. Proof of vaccination shall be provided to Shaggy to Chic upon request.
Aggressive or Dangerous Dogs: Owners MUST inform Shaggy to Chic if your dog(s) bite(s), has bitten, or is aggressive to people, other pets, or specific grooming procedures. Muzzles may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your dog and protects both the dog and the groomer from harm. Shaggy to Chic reserves the right to refuse/stop services for such dog(s) at any time before or during the grooming process, and charge an “Aggressive Dog Fee” in addition to the regular grooming charge(s).
Matted Coats: Dogs with severely matted coats require extra attention. Shaggy to Chic will not cause stress to your dog(s) by de-matting. Mats can be very difficult to remove and may require the area to be shaved. Removing matted a coat can cause nicks, cuts or abrasions due to skin trapped in the mats. The after effects of the mat removal procedure can include itchiness, skin redness and self-inflected irritations. I agree not to hold Shaggy to Chic responsible for any irritations or injury incurred as a result of de-matting or shaving mats.
Parasites: If you suspect your dog has fleas or ticks, prompt and thorough action on YOUR part is needed. Flea infestations can lead to tapeworm and other health problems. If fleas or ticks are found during the grooming process, your dog will be treated with a natural product to kill the parasites and you will be charged. Please note: Shaggy to Chic will not use pesticide dips or sprays on your dog. Ticks found will be removed for an additional charge. If ticks are found, we strongly suggest you have your pet tested for Lyme Disease. Please note that parasites are a health hazard to your dog as well as to humans.
Descaling and Polishing Teeth: Shaggy to Chic does not anaesthetize your dog(s), so we can only treat cooperative dogs that let us touch their teeth. The procedure is just like a visit for us to a dental hygienist, we use the same equipment. Most of the dogs don’t mind the experience and become more cooperative over a period of time. During the procedure of removing the tartar buildup irritation and minimal gum damage can occur and I agree to not hold Shaggy to Chic responsible.
Late Pick-Up: We are not a boarding facility. If your dog is not picked up by closing for the day, and additional $50 per hour kennel charge will be applied.
Late Drop-Off, No-show & Cancellation: We understand there may be emergency situations and will work with you, but not on a continued basis. Please be respectful of our time as we are a by-appointment business and another client could have taken your appointment if we had known. Clients 15 minutes late risk losing their appointment without notice.
